Outline of Historical Events   This is a list of transactions and communications between the Town and Forest Service with respect to the Park. It covers the period from 1985 to 2002.
Pinetop-Lakeside Strategic Management Plan was adopted by the town in FY 2005-2006. We have highlignted the sections that refer to the Park.
Educational Land Grant of 2000   This is the legislation that authorizes the sale of up to 40 acres of USFS land to a school district in a communty which borders the Forest. We may be able to use this legislation to acquire the Big Springs educational site.
Letter from White Mountains Land Trust  This is a letter sent to the Department of Agriculture in 2006 arguing against the possible sale of the park to obtain funds for the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act. It was this threatened sale by the government that gave impetus and immediacy to our efforts to acquire the Park from the Forest Service
